Getting Nearby Articles

Is there any way to search Wikipedia using this service, or any other, that will let me make a query, providing a specific latitude and longitude pair and getting back results that are things that are nearby.
Kind of like the "Nearby Wikipedia" search, but I dont want it to tell me towns and things. I'd rather get nearby famous places instead.
Can that be done?

The findNearby service seems
The findNearby service seems to match your needs -- check out the issue queue at drupal.org. It takes featureclasses and codes as parameters along with lat/lng.
I haven't officially released the service yet - as the code was written very recently. I will release it for Drupal 6 pretty soon, and backporting it should be a very easy job.
