Regarding the service that able to search nearby function and displaying in Googlemap

Hi,

I'm working with a charity company in London. We are implementing a big event which involve the whole nation. The thing is i want to implement a function which is similar to this link
http://geonames.edesign.no/examples/search , but i would do abit changes so that it will be search based on nearby event that's been held.

Do i need to pay for this service? or which API should i use?

Currently i've install Gmap, GeoNames , Location in Drupal.

I like the way you have googlemaps integrated with the search location feature at
http://geonames.edesign.no/examples/search

I would like to learn how it was done. Any pointers to achieving the same functionality would be helpful. I have installed geonames, gmaps, location modules in my installation of drupal

I am new to Drupal and am learning as I am go along. Hence appreciate all your help

You should only need the

You should only need the Gmap module if you have the events geocoded and will not need the GeoNames API for this.

Hi.. Thanks for your feedback.. I found the solution.. I manage to create a module in drupal and do the function that it will search nearby area based on my location table.

i still at the beginning.. but wish me luck!
